I Like Myself

Almost every Saturday Little Pumpkin Doodle and Hubby go to Barnes and Noble, so that LPD may play with the giant train set. However, last Saturday when LPD said, “Mommy you come to book store too,” I couldn’t refuse.

As soon as we walked into the children’s section I was immediately drawn to “I Like Myself!”  The title said it all.  I don’t want to ruin the story, but the author Karen Beaumont has a great way of explaining to kids to accept themselves just as they are.

LPD’s all time fav’s are from her Aunt Deb, the Fancy Nancy series. It all began with Splendiferous Christmas, by Jane O’Connor.  We love the Fancy Nancy books for several reasons, Fancy Nancy is an entrepreneur, she always looks fabulous, and the author has a great way of explaining things to a child so they understand. As a parent who sometimes struggles with explaining things to a child who is always asking “what’s this?”  I’m not afraid to say that I’ve used Fancy Nancy as a guide to answer those questions.

Do you have any favorite books that you like to read to your child? I would like to hear from you.  Hope your Thursday is great and you’re enjoying Mommy’s Organics.
