Thanks for continuing to join me on my trip to Oregon!
The Eugene, Oregon Saturday Market puts your local farmers market to shame. From fortune tellers, hippies playing hackey sac, hand made children toys, food and much more. Located near the university, this Eugene tradition is buzzing with energy. I was so happy to have my niece and nephews join me for this unique experience.
The first Saturday Market was held on May 9, 1970. It rained, and there were 29 vendors. The Market now has over 800 active members and nearly 300 of these members sell each week, rain or shine, and just about everything is organic.
Tie Dye underwear anyone?!
I thought the quirky signs were funny!
The pics of the mushrooms don’t do them justice. Just gorgeous! Did you see the black truffles in the corner? I never thought I’d be ooohing and aaahing over mushrooms.
Above:Linda from Premrose Edible chocolates. She sold rose petal infused organic chocolates, syrups and jams from her farm. My favorite, the Premier Gourmet Rose Petal Jam, tasted like a bouquet of roses, I’ve never tasted anything like it! I’m going to order some for my next tea party with Little Pumpkin Doodle for our scones.
Above: Meat filled pastries are called pasties. I know funny!
Take the most delicious and fresh veggies, meats, cheeses or fruits, wrap with a flaky crust and bake! My nephew and I split one and savored every bite.
Tulips are everywhere in Oregon, and Oregonanians love their Tulips.
We decided to end our day at the Owen Rose Garden.
All in all it was a good day.
It’s hard being away from Little Pumpkin Doodle, so I call her about four times a day. Hubby told me that yesterday LPD said, ” I don’t want mommy to visit Auntie anymore, I miss mommy!” It’s great to see my sis, but I’m looking forward to going home.
Hope you had a great weekend and Thank you for growing Mommy’s Organics. Leave a comment or contact me directly.
