Hi There! Fashion “Friendly” Friday is where I show you how I’m turning my closet & Little Pumpkin Doodle’s into an environmentally friendly wardrobe by learning to Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse.
The skirt is from Ann Taylor Loft and it’s one of my favorites, not only does it have two of my favorite colors, but I purchased it on sale years ago. It’s so old I couldn’t tell you how long I’ve had it. The sweater is also old and I purchased it at Mervyn’s after college. Now that’s old, considering Mervyn’s no longer exists! It has a little ink stain on the sleeve, so I roll them up. The top I purchased for a $1.00 at the Goodwill. I’m not sure why anyone would have given it away, it still had the Old Navy tag on it and looked like it had never been worn.
I’ve been asked to wear the Fashion Friendly Friday finds! Say that, ten times fast. If you’ve been reading this blog, you know I don’t like my picture taken, so I figured I’ll start the process slowly.
Today Little Pumpkin Doodle and I are going to visit Grandpa and he’s taking us to Oak Glen to see the apples. Should be fun!
Hope you have a great weekend and thank you for your readership. If this is your first visit to Mommy’s Organics start here

Its funny you are talking about :Recycle-Reduce-Reuse i just did. I had 3 skirts since my kids were in HS; they were long with ruffles on the bottom. For $15.00 I had a seamstress cut the ruffles and revamp a dress to give it a lower neck line. Now I have 4 new out fits! Tip:find someone reasonable for your alterations; my seamstress is very reasonable.
That’s awesome and a great idea. I love altering existing clothing pieces. I would love to see pictures of the skirts and dress you had altered. If you send them to me, I would love to feature them on a Fashion “Friendly” Friday!
Cute outfit!
Something I’ve been doing for years is I keep a box of clothes for the kids called the “too big” box. These are items of clothing that are too big for any of them to wear, and twice a year I go through the box to see if anything will fit. Today my daughter and I sifted through the box getting ready for back to school and now she has 4 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of pants and 2 shirts, all of these items I have saved for the last 5 years knowing some day she would be able to wear them. How awesome is that?!
Thank you! That’s an awesome idea. Sounds like you buy clothes way ahead of time? Do you shop sales or do you mostly do thrifting?
What great colors in your skirt! LOVE the light purple.
Let’s follow each other!
XOXO
