Fashion “Friendly” Friday

Fashion “Friendly” Friday is where I show you how I’m turning my closet & Little Pumpkin Doodle’s into an environmentally friendly wardrobe by learning to Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse. Last week I went to my new favorite children’s resale store, Sugar Plum Kids. For those of you who are reading this blog for awhile you know that Little Pumpkin Doodle names all her dresses and since she has outworn ”Laura Ashley” it was time to get a new dress. I love this store! The place is clean, it doesnt’ have the stinky resale smell and the staff is great. I happen to have a credit from the time LPD’s nanna was here for visiting for $13.00 (I sold some of LPD’s clothing to the store), so I went to work. Since LPD was with me she occupied herself by playing with toys while I browsed. It didn’t take long for me to find two adorable dresses.

Fashion “Friendly” Friday-How to Get More Use Out of Onesies

Happy Friday! For those of you who are reading this blog for the first time, Fashion “Friendly” Friday is where I show you how I’m turning my closet into an environmentally friendly wardrobe by learning to Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse.

This posting is a little different, let me explain. We’ve been pretty lazy about potty training Little Pumpkin Doodle, but after she had an accident on the sofa we decided to get it together.

We thought we were doing the right thing by asking LPD if she had to go potty and then encouraging her to use the potty by giving her praise. Even after all the praise, she continued to pee in her pull ups. It was no surprise when I picked her up from daycare last week that she was wearing a different outfit then what I put her in that morning. Fashion “Friendly” Friday

Happy Friday! For those or those of you that have been reading, you know that I spent some time in Oregon and was thrilled by all the resale stores. If this is your first time stopping by, Fashion “Friendly” Fridays is where I’m trying to reduce, recycle and reuse my wardrobe to make it more green friendly.

Here’s what I found for Little Pumpkin Doodle during my stay.

The coral dress is Cherokee and is big for LPD, but should be perfect for next summer. It was $3.00 bucks in perfect condition.

Fashion “Friendly” Friday-Happy Easter!

Happy Friday! This is such a big weekend. We have a lot of fun things planned for Little Pumpkin Doodle. She doesn’t quite understand Easter, but she’s enjoying all the gifts from her wonderful family. Nanna sent LPD a very large box filled with Easter goodies. I’m surprised she’s being so patient and waiting until Daddy gets home to open it. One adorable Easter gfit LPD received is a custom t-shirt from Tante Lisa, by Lima Bean Kids. Since LPD has a slightly unusual name, it’s difficult to find items with her name on it, so it was a nice surprise. [Read more...]

Fashion “Friendly” Friday-Goodwill Hunting

Hi There.  So, if you been following Mommy’s Organics you know that Friday is the day I usually have an outfit together. My goal is to continue to recycle, reduce or reuse clothing.  However, I didn’t find anything in my usual shops and have a few items to donate. Since Little Pumpkin Doodle is at daycare today, I’m heading out and shopping 3 thrift stores in a neighboring city.  I thought I would pick an inspiration outfit, but I decided it would be more fun to see what I can find organically:)

I’ll keep you posted with my finds by updating Twitter at the bottom right of the blog.

As for this weekend, we have no big plans since hubby has to work.  LPD and I are going to browse the local farmers market tomorrow and hopefully find some veggies to grow.  LPD can’t wait to grow veggies, so she can use the watering can my mother gave her.  I’m not good with plants, but I’m willing to give it a try.

Any tips on growing veggies would be greatly appreciated.

I’m off!  I really hope I find some great finds today, since my budget is $20.00

Hope you have a great weekend.  Thank you for growing Mommy’s Organics:) If you stopped by for the 1st time subscribe and read more here.
