Little Pumpkin Doodle Update

Hope you’re ready for the weekend, I know I am! I thought I would update this posting since it’s been awhile. Here are some updates on Little Pumpkin Doodle’s favorite things as she grows.

WHAT SHE’S LEARNING: French and Gymnastics

FAVORITE SONGS:B52′s Love Shack, Who let the Dogs, Le Petite Train and Heads UP, by Steve Vai

BOOKS: All things Fancy Nancy, Pirates of the Sea and Dog, by Matthew Van Fleet

SHOWS: Secret Agent Oso and Jungle Junction

FUNNY QUIRKS. She still names all her dresses, and her all time fave is Laura Ashley (she wears it all the time). Her new funny quirk is stopping and doing this dance where she shakes her hands and drops to the ground, for some reason she thinks it’s hilarious.

FAVORITE PAST TIME: Ballet and reading her books.

Thank you for your readership:)

Stay tuned for more to come.

Sinfully Cinnamon Peach Crisp Recipe

Hi There! Hope your staying cool and enjoying the summer.

Thought I would share the last couple of days with you. At the top are peaches from grandpa’s house, Little Pumpkin Doodle and I taking a self-portrait, Pinterest fun for kids and organic homemade condensed milk for our homemade organic easy ice cream recipe.

Since we had so many peaches from our visit to grandpa’s  last week, we made  Cinnamon Peach Crisps. We prepared the crisps in the late afternoon and baked them in the evening after 7pm to conserve energy. They were sinfully perfect with our homemade ice cream. It was our first time baking with a mason jar and it turned out great.

Don’t forget I’ll be updating the Mommy’s Organics site about once a week while our site get’s a makeover.

Check out the recipe below !

We all scream for easy homemade organic ice cream!

Happy Wednesday! It has been hot and humid the last couple of weeks in southern California. So to stay cool, I’ve been making meals that require little to no heat and we’ve been using our Frogg Toggs chilly pads towels.

I don’t know about you, but after dinner I like dessert, so when I found this recipe from SparkPeople I had to try it. We have a fancy ice cream maker so Little Pumpkin Doodle thought it was strange when I told her that we were making ice cream in a blender.  I made some changes to the recipe, but it’s essentially the same and tastes more like soft serve ice cream.

Don’t forget to stay tuned for Mommy’s Organics 2.0. We’re revamping the site and you’ll soon have a chance to win some great giveaways!

Mommy’s Organics “Endangered Species” Applesauce Muffins

Hope you had a nice weekend! We have been busy the last couple of weeks.  Little Pumpkin Doodle was hit by accident in the eye at day care.  She’s doing fine now;  I was worried she’d have a scar, but I’m happy to say that I think she’ll end up scar free. Then two weekends ago we were is L.A. to visit Hubby’s brother that was visiting from the Big Apple.

We watched the olympics off and on this past weekend. We let Little Pumpkin Doodle watch the opening ceremony, but she lost interest very quickly, as did I. What did you think of the opening ceremony?  However, I thought the part with Daniel Craig/James Bond taking the Queen to the Olympic stadium was hilarious! [Read more...]

Fashion “Friendly” Friday

Fashion “Friendly” Friday is where I show you how I’m turning my closet & Little Pumpkin Doodle’s into an environmentally friendly wardrobe by learning to Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse. Last week I went to my new favorite children’s resale store, Sugar Plum Kids. For those of you who are reading this blog for awhile you know that Little Pumpkin Doodle names all her dresses and since she has outworn ”Laura Ashley” it was time to get a new dress. I love this store! The place is clean, it doesnt’ have the stinky resale smell and the staff is great. I happen to have a credit from the time LPD’s nanna was here for visiting for $13.00 (I sold some of LPD’s clothing to the store), so I went to work. Since LPD was with me she occupied herself by playing with toys while I browsed. It didn’t take long for me to find two adorable dresses.

Simple ways to keep it “Green” in the kitchen

I’m always trying to find greener ways to clean things, especially in the kitchen. When Little Pumpkin Doodle came along I was out of control. I had hand sanitizer everywhere and was constantly wiping things down with vinegar and water. Below are a few easy solutions to keeping things green while cleaning the kitchen. [Read more...]
